Still my go-to for making personal UI mockups or icons. I’ve used it for over a decade, and it’s always felt wildly intuitive.

No-brainer for collaborative UI and website design, even though I don’t care much for their recent pricing changes.

Free photo/designer suite that let me finally say good riddance to Adobe.

Surprisingly good for creating PDF documents once you get the hang of it.

Perfectly capable - if mildly unwieldy - open-source decompiler. I want to learn how to use it more effectively!

Wireshark

Intercept all kinds of things on your machine; obviously network packets, but also USB and Bluetooth.

Binwalk

CLI tool that can detect a whole host of common file formats and compression streams within arbitrary binary data.

Proxyman

Intercept and capture HTTP requests. Charles is also good, and I used to like Fiddler before it went subscription-only.

CyberChef

Web tool where you can pass data through chains of common transformations like compression, encryption, hashing, etc.

ImHex

Superb hex editor, made by fellow console-modding-scene alum WerWolv.

Pleasant digital painting app for iPad, feels super responsive, just has some “quirky” UI choices that take a bit of adjusting to.

Not used often nowadays, but their vector linework tools are unparalleled.
